Col. Gowan (or Gowen) Harris served in the Mississippi legislature in 1822 from Covington county. About 1827 he went to live in Brazoria TX where he served in the battle of San Jacinto and got land from Sam Houston.
When he died he left everything to Andrew (the executor), except that he left all the other children ten dollars each.
